After earlier planning for a hard surface only day, we’ve carefully reevaluated the weather and road conditions. Keeping the safety of our students, staff, and families as our top priority, all HPS schools will be closed 1/8/2025 for a traditional snow day.

Mrs. Kneib's math class watched Dr. Seuss: How the Grinch Stole Christmas and solve math problems in relation to the video. The Grinch even stopped by.
🏀🏴☠️️ Youth programs in our community are an essential part of a programs success!! All youth basketball players get in FREE (wearing team jersey) to the HMS basketball game on Saturday, December 21 and entered into a drawing for a prize!!
🏀🏴☠️️ 7th grade boys play at 9am, 8th grade boys play after - 10am! Come out and support our talented student athletes. This will be great games for both teams, let's pack the gym!!

🦅 Staff and students at HMS had an amazing assembly honoring our veterans on Monday, November 11. During the assembly, our talented HMS band performed the Star-Spangled Banner and Armed Forces on Parade. Our Pirate Singers sang the beautiful song, Song for the Unsung Hero. Our LOC (Leaders of the Crew) students took on the leadership role of setting up the reception for our veterans and led the assembly.
🎉A big congratulations to our Patriot's Pen Essay winner, Elliott Seiler!
🏴☠️️ Thank you Veterans for attending our assembly. Thank you to Hannibal American Legion Post 55 for presenting/retiring our colors. Thank you to Marine Corps. Veteran, Ken Cummins for performing Taps. Thank you to our History department for organizing and speaking. Thank you to our keynote speaker, Army/National Guard Veteran Staff Sgt. Sean Phillips. He had a great message to give to all of our students.
🏴☠️️We not only want to thank our Veterans and staff, but our students also. The attention and respect given during the assembly was outstanding! Way to go, HMS!!
