The Hannibal School District Board of Education has (3) positions available with three-year terms (April 2023-April 2026). Five citizens have filed their candidacy for a position on the School Board in the April 4th, 2023 election.

♥️Tomorrow is National Random Acts of Kindness Day. We may only celebrate this week, but hope our community can continue to spread kindness. A small and random gesture of kindness can go a long way.
♥️ HMS, celebrate this day in your pajamas and randomly surprise someone with your kindness!
🎢7th grade science had some fun this week with the catapults and roller coasters. Students were to engineer a device that allowed them to control the transfer of potential and kinetic energy.
🎢 The second goal was to investigate the cause-and-effect aspect and become proficient at controlling the transfer by understanding how to adjust tension on the rubber bands in order to launch a pompom and consistently hit a target with accuracy.
🎢The ultimate 'fun' goal was for the pompom to hit a target - a marble perched on a platform at the top of their roller coaster - sending it down the coaster. They did an amazing job!!
The 8th grade parent meeting with high school counselors scheduled for this evening has been postponed due to weather concerns. The meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 21st in the HHS cafeteria at 6:30pm.
Hannibal Public Schools will be closed today, February 16, 2023; due to forecasted ice and inclement weather.

🚓 National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day was celebrated today. Our HMS Leaders of the Crew gave our resource officers a little gift of appreciation.
♥️ Our first day of kindness week was a success! If you haven't said thank you, good afternoon, or good evening to everyone you know, there is still time! Our 8th grade Leaders of the Crew put on an awesome activity for our crews. Ask your child about the activity!
♥️ Reminder about tomorrow: our challenge for the day and dress up.
Ms. Trexler’s life skills class practiced cooking measurements while making cookies in a jar for Valentine’s Day.
❤️Another fun dress up week ahead!! It's Kindness week!! Not only do we have fun dress up days, our 8th grade LOC (Leaders of the Crew) created a kindness challenge for each day!!
