Grace Hiles Signing

Hannibal High School proudly announces HHS Senior Grace Hiles has been selected to attend the prestigious U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. This remarkable achievement highlights Grace's exceptional dedication, leadership skills, and commitment to serving her country.

The U.S. Naval Academy is renowned for its rigorous academic curriculum, rigorous physical training, and comprehensive leadership development program. Each year, the Academy selects a limited number of exceptional students from across the nation, and Grace has demonstrated the qualities required to excel in this esteemed institution.

U.S. Representative Sam Graves recognized Grace's outstanding qualities and potential as a future leader in the military. Grace was among 13 students nominated by Representative  Graves earlier this spring to pursue an education at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Throughout her high school years, Grace has consistently displayed outstanding qualities both inside and outside the classroom.  HHS Principal Ted Sampson shared, "Grace has a tremendous work ethic and is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure her success and the success of others around her. We are very proud of Grace and want to wish her the best for her future."

Upon her selection to attend the U.S. Naval Academy, Grace expressed her gratitude and excitement, stating “I am so excited, so blessed. I think it is an amazing opportunity, throughout this process, it has introduced me to so many wonderful people and showed me so much more of the world of the military life that I could hardly believe existed before."

We extend our warmest congratulations to Grace on this remarkable accomplishment. We wish her many successes as she embarks on this transformative journey at the U.S. Naval Academy.  Grace's dedication and commitment to serving her country make her an exceptional representative of our school and community!
