Hana and Hanna in front of DECA conference backdrop

Congratulations to our 2 DECA state competitors! Hannibal's DECA had 2 students qualify and attend State Career Development Conference in Kansas City yesterday. This year, Hana Amirdash and Hannah Nguyen qualified in Principles of Marketing and Food Marketing Services, respectively. Hana placed 4th in state out of 36 first year members that competed in the Principles of Marketing event.

Over 2000 students and teachers from DECA chapters across the state of Missouri attended the event. Students must qualify to attend based on their competitive events within their DECA districts. DECA's sponsor Triston Jones shared, "I am very proud of both of these young ladies that represented Hannibal Career and Technical Center’s DECA chapter. They both got out of their comfort zones their first year and chose events that they had to take a 100 question timed exam as well as give presentations about a an unbeknownst situation to them until 10 minutes before their time slot that were judged by professionals. "
